Agra
Day-1
The Grand Tashree at Delhi Airport
Featuring a Restaurant, Hotel Grand Tashree is set in New Delhi in the Delhi NCR region, 15 km from Qutub Minar and 17 km from Rashtrapati Bhavan. All rooms feature a kitchenette, a TV with cable channels, and a private bathroom. Local points of interest like Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and India Gate are reachable within 20 km, respectively. At the hotel, every room has a wardrobe. Gandhi Smriti is 17 km from Tashree Hotel, while Lodhi Gardens is 19 km away. The nearest airport is Delhi International Airport, 7 km from the accommodation.
Day-2
India Gate
Amidst the lush well-manicured gardens stands the 42 m high India Gate commemorating the Indian and British soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I. The memorial bears the names of more than 13,516 British and Indian soldiers killed in the Northwestern Frontier in the Afghan war of 1919. Made of red Bharatpur sandstone, this iconic architecture was designed by Edwin Lutyens and was laid in 1920 by His Royal Highness, the Duke of Connaught. There's also an Amar Jawan Jyoti, the eternal flame dedicated to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Car itineraries usually do not include an extended stop here, therefore keep a lookout while you pass by this attraction.
Qutub Minar
Built in the year 1193 by Qutb-ud-din Aibak to celebrate the defeat of Delhi's last Hindu ruler, the majestically tall Qutub Minar amidst the lush gardens of Mehrauli, is a sight to behold. With a height of 73 meters, the minar has five distinctive stories, each with a unique kind of carving. Apart from the minar, the complex features many archaeological buildings like the magnificent Alai-Darwaza Gate, known for its Indo-Muslim art (built in 1311), and two mosques, including the Quwwatul-Islam. Lotus Temple
Counted amongst the seven major Baha'i temples in the world, Lotus Temple, also known as Baha’I House of Worship, is a pure white marble architecture built in the shape of a blooming lotus flower. One of Delhi's most iconic architecture, the temple was designed by Fariborz Sahba. Amidst the well-manicured garden, the temple consists of 27 massive marble petals, rising in the middle of nine pools and walkways. Inside the Lotus Temple, there are no idols or images, as it is against the Baha'i faith. However, the pilgrims come here to meditate. The Lotus Temple remains closed for visitors on Monday.
Jai Hind - Sound & Light Show (Hindi)
Jai Hind show is first experience of its kind at a historical monument - Red Fort. This showcase a dramatic presentation of key events in Red Forts over 400-year-old history from completion of Red Forts construction in 1648 to India's independence in 1947. In the voices of Shri Amitabh Bachchan Shri Kabir Bedi. Gigantic puppets, live dancers and actors, immersive sound, state-of-the-art projection mapping, animation films all put together deliver an unforgettable experience. Unique walk-through experience covering Naubat Khana, Diwan-e-Aam Diwan-e-Khaas. Two shows running daily Except Monday (Hindi and English, 6:30 pm and 7:45 pm respectively). Timings subject to change. This also includes entry to Red Fort Centre - A unique interactive musuem. Built by restoring a British army barrack originally constructed in 1862. Offers a unique peek into what Dehi was like before Shahjahanabad was established. Captures the magnificent architecture, royal traditions and luxurious living in the Fort through a variety of interactive themes and exhibits.
Day-3
Sikandara
Located in the outskirts of Agra, Sikandra is known for Akbar’s Tomb, the last resting place of the Mughal Emperor. The tomb was built by Akbar himself which was later completed by his son Jahangir. Featuring a blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural style, the tomb is constructed with red sandstone and marble. The interiors are decorated with fine calligraphy and inside lies the grave of Akbar in a dark chamber. The outlying Mughal styled garden adds beauty to the splendid structure of the Tomb. Tourists can explore the tomb as they admire its architectural beauty and then retreat to the calm oasis of the charming garden
Taj Mahal
One of the seven wonders of the world, Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan to immortalize the deep love for his deceased wife Mumtaz Mahal. Renowned for its ethereal beauty, the monument is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has captivated the hearts of many not only in India but all over the world. A fine example of Mughal architecture, Taj Mahal was constructed with marble and features an amalgamation of Indian, Persian and Islamic architectural style. The reflective pools and elegant gardens on the premises add further charm to its beauty. Visitors can take a stroll and admire the visceral charisma of Taj Mahal, especially on a full moon night when the ivory white marble is bathed in moonlight and looks absolutely breathtaking. Taj Mahal remains closed for visitors on Friday.
Day-4
Agra fort
Located around 3 kilometers away from Taj Mahal, Agra Fort is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Agra. Known for its rich history, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The splendid structure of the Fort is famous for its majestic gates namely Delhi Gate, Lahore Gate, Elephant Gate, and the Amar Singh Gate. Since the Fort is sprawled over an area of 94 acres, visitors are suggested to wear comfortable shoes and carry a water bottle as drinking water is not provided inside the Fort
